Sunday Afternoon Bowling

Yesterday we celebrated a beautiful day by spending a few hours inside a bowling alley with our cousins.  It was a lot of fun (albeit expensive!) but everyone seemed to have a good time.

Harper had trouble getting the ball all the way down the lane (3 times!!) but she ended up winning the last kids game.  The last picture shows the scores of the two grownup games.  To be clear, Stevie and I (U and K on the screen) are way better at bowling than Chelsea and Mike (A and M on the screen).

Some of Shyla's Work

This morning Stevie and I cleaned out (half of) the garage!  We made a lot of progress even though there's still much more to be done.  I came across some of Shyla's projects so I decided to archive them through the blog instead of letting them get even more destroyed with another move.  These projects were actually from Kindergarten and the Behavior Form is from first trimester of first grade.

Happy Halloween!

Finally, the Halloween festivities are over (can you feel the relief?).  It was another great Halloween.  We had a Sophia the First, Dorothy, and Mrs. Potato Head.  Last week Harper got to wear her costume to school to go trick-or-treating at Cienega with VIP, Shyla got to dress up on Thursday for her annual parade around Cougar Court, and I had got to dress up on Friday with the rest of my students and staff.

For the actual holiday, we first went to Grandma and Grandpa's for their annual cul-de-sac potluck.  The kids played and it's nice to see everyone.  We didn't stay long this year, however, because as of last year the girls figured out that there is more to trick-or-treating then visiting the 3 houses that are participating.

So, we went to a party at a friend's house.  They shut down the street for great trick-or-treating.  Visiting the houses was great, but the party was really crowded and Shyla got extremely overwhelmed.  We called it quits pretty early but still needed all day Sunday to recover.

Off to begin another busy week....

Friday night fro-yo!

What do you do when the temperature drops and it pours rain all day?  Go get some yummy frozen yogurt, of course!
