CIMI 2012

For good reason I don't talk much about work.  However, I will talk about CIMI.  CIMI is the Catalina Island Marine Institute and it's a 6th grade trip that I have now gone on for three years.  (2008, 2010, and 2012 are the years in which I have gone; I have had babies in 2009 and 2011.)
My teaching partner, Paula, and I take nearly 40 students to this 3-day sea camp off the coast of Long Beach.  While there we hike, camp, kayak, snorkel, dissect, learn about conservation and ecology, and learn to work together.  It is a great experience for the kids and adults alike and, although I missed my girls like crazy, I am happy to be part of it.
