My Birth Plan

If you google "Birth Plan" the search will return over 38 million responses. Seriously!

When I was pregnant with Shyla I did not construct a birth-plan. I knew that my doctor would take good care of us and we would end up leaving the hospital with a healthy baby girl. THAT was my birth plan.

I kind of feel that even if you make a "plan" the baby has his or her own "plan" that will definitely supersede your own, so what's the point.

We had a wonderful experience at the hospital where we delivered!

With one exception....the lactation consultation.

So, this time around I am constructing a very specific, but concise, birth plan:

1) Come home with one of these:

2) And don't let a lactation consultant into the room.

Period. The End. El Fin.

Good plan sister! That "first photo" of Harper should probably end up in her baby book.
If you need me to run interference or create a diversion so as to not let the consultant into your room, I'm your gal.

oh there's got to be one heck of a story behind this...my lc's were life savers. Love your thinking behind birth plans...totally agree.

Hahaha, I love it! You would be my Dad's ideal patient; he says the perfect birth plan is as follows:
1. Get to hospital.
2. Have the baby.
3. Go home.

Isn't that the TRUTH? Sure didn't help me any, AND made me feel bad too. "This is your first baby? Oh...well you're going to need some serious help because you don't know what you're doing," (in so many words). Even with help, the boobs don't know what they need to do too (or at least mine). If I had it to over again? I wouldn't worry so much about all of that, try my best, and move on. Would have saved lots of tears and could have had more quality time with my son.
